Editorial standards

Every guide on this site is written to the same rules:

• Official sources are linked directly, so you can check the rule yourself.
• Every guide shows the date it was last reviewed.
• Where something depends on your fare, airline or route, we say so rather than giving a false certainty.
• Where we give an opinion, we say who it is for — and who should choose differently.

Information, not advice

The content on this website is general information for travelers. It is not medical, legal, financial or insurance advice, and it is not a substitute for professional guidance about your own situation. If you are travelling with a medical condition, speak with your doctor and your airline's medical or accessibility desk before you fly.

Rules change — check before you travel

Airline allowances, security rules, government programs, fees and prices change frequently and often without notice. The date shown on each guide records its latest editorial update; but the version that matters is the one published by the airline or the agency on your travel date. Always confirm with the official source linked in each guide before you rely on it.

Affiliate disclosure

Some pages on this website may contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase or booking, we may receive a commission from the merchant. We may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Where a page contains affiliate links, a clear disclosure appears on that page before the first such link.

We only include a partner where the product or service is genuinely relevant to the guide, and the page must remain useful to you even if you choose a different provider or buy nothing at all.

External links

We link to government agencies, airlines and other third parties for your convenience. We do not control those websites and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability.

No guarantee of outcome

We cannot guarantee that following a guide will produce a particular result at a particular airport on a particular day. Staffing, weather, equipment and local practice all vary. Use our guides to prepare well and to know what to ask for — not as a promise of what will happen.

Trademarks

Airline, airport and product names mentioned on this site are the trademarks of their respective owners. Their use here is descriptive only and does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.
